Meeting Reminder:

March 6th, 2001 is our next upcoming meeting.  AHARC meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the Allegny County Courthouse in the Office of Emergency Services, room 8.  All are invited to attend…bring a friend along!

Annual dues will be coming up in May.  At $10.00, membership in AHARC is a bargin!  And when your editor gets his honey dew’s done on the house (n2xpg is really a sweetheart and great helper full of ideas!), the newsletter will be back better than ever, one of  your membership perks!

NEW!!  AHARC Web page  www.aharc.org

Don, K2UOB has been hard at work building a web page for the club.  On this site, you’ll find upcoming events, club news, and the AHARC newsletter.  Plus pictures of activities AHARC members are involved with.

Many thanks goes out to Don, our webmaster, for securing the web site and address, as well as building the web page.  Great job Don!!!

From ye old Editor’s Desk….

Well I was finally able to attend last month’s meeting.  As you all know N2XPG and I have had the fun of remodeling our house ourselves, and we have taken a mid-winter’s break, but expect to start again full force in March (if the wx cooperates).

I hope to be able to get meeting reminders and maybe short newsletters out to members and friends of AHARC throughout this year.  If anyone would like to contribute to the newsletter, please make it known to me via email or radio, your help will be greatly appreciated!

That’s it for now….73,  N2WDS

Upcoming  Club Activities….

The STPR Road Rally is coming up the first weekend in June.  So far it looks like AHARC will represented by K2UOB, K3QBU, N2XPG, and N2WDS to help with rally communications.  If anyone else would like to participate, please contact Don, K2UOB at  weimandn@usadatanet.net for further information.  Don will point you in the right direction.  Also, checkout Don’s website; he has pictures of last year’s rally and may have a link to the STPR website.

The annual AHARC picnic and Foxhunt….no dates have been set as of yet…anybody game?

Any other activities have yet to decided on, as of this date.  Stay tuned for more info.

FIELD DAY:  The Headwaters ARC, ARRL Field Day will be on 23 and 24 June this year.  We have again arranged to use the Black Forest Conservation Association Camp on Jenkins Hill this year.  This facility has sleeping and eating facilities, so we have operated to the wee hours of the morning.   This has been a fun event for all who have participated in the past.  It is also an opportunity to operate with full HF privileges, no matter your license class.  Mark it on your calendar, and plan to spend some time with the rest of the club.
